DRUGS AWARENESS PROGRAMME, LEBANON

In Lebanon, AMAR delivered one-off workshops on drugs awareness teaching children and their parents about the dangers and long-term effects of drug-addiction.

Workshops took the form of lectures followed by question-and-answer sessions and role-play activities to encourage engagement. 

In 2013, workshops were delivered across 12 schools, reaching 460 children. They taught ways to say no to drugs and gave information on sources of treatment and support for addiction.

The programme was supported by Community Drugs Awareness lectures, targeting parents, which discussed how to identify symptoms of addiction, how best to talk to your child about drugs, and what to do if you suspect they might be at risk.
