WHY WE ARE NEEDED

Communities emerging from conflicts need support to rebuild their lives.

By anybody’s standards, Iraq’s people have suffered more than most over the last few decades.  War and civil unrest has torn the country apart, and it is only in the last few years that the country’s beleaguered population has started to see some light at the end of what has been a very dark tunnel.

The immensely challenging situation has left the government with the enormous task of rebuilding their country and providing for its citizens. Iraq is rich in natural resources and will become a great nation once again, but for now, it still needs a helping hand.

This is where AMAR comes in. We are helping to deliver on immediate need, with health and education projects, and for the future with education on human rights and gender-based violence.
